About this listen

From the USA Today bestselling author of The Friend Zone comes an adorable and fresh romantic comedy about one trouble-making dog who brings together two perfect strangers.

Two years after losing her fiancé, Sloan Monroe still can't seem to get her life back on track. But one trouble-making pup with a 'take me home' look in his eyes is about to change everything. With her new pet by her side, Sloan finally starts to feel more like herself. Then, after weeks of unanswered texts, Tucker's owner reaches out. He's a musician on tour in Australia. And bottom line: he wants Tucker back.

Well, Sloan's not about to give up her dog without a fight. But what if this Jason guy really loves Tucker? As their flirty texts turn into long calls, Sloan can't deny a connection. Jason is hot and nice and funny. There's no telling what could happen when they meet in person. The question is: with his music career on the rise, how long will Jason really stick around? And is it possible for Sloan to survive another heartbreak?

All the feels

Abbey Jimenez has a knack for writing stories that capture the complexity of life, the compromise of relationships and still weave in a HEA that both the characters & the readers deserve. Once again, her writing creates emotional depth and engagement throughout the story.

Lovely combination of Minnesota & Melbourne - even Marvel Stadium got a mention!

Abby Jimenez = 5 Stars from me, always.

Off to download the next book, Life's Too Short.
I disliked how long it took them to get back together, but understand that the book needed it. Also, have a new appreciation and understanding of how hard being a musician is. I always think as an example "how can Taylor Swift tour for so long, doing such a long show over and over". After listening to the fictional experience Jaxon Waters had, I still don't understand how real musicians can do it. It sounds awful. Like a punishment for being a great musician. But I loved seeing Taylor perform and loved supporting her with my money. It must be so exhausting though.
Sloan & Jason were truly amazing characters. I'd read about them again.
It was interesting hearing about Lola Simone in this book, as I'd already listened to "Part of Your World" which shows you where she ends up long after when this book is set. I wish I'd listened to them in order for this reason but didn't realise she'd be in this. Still loved her character development.

Emotional

This is my third Abby Jimenez and I’m addicted but also mad because her stories are beautiful and funny and romantic and sad and hopeful. This one had me in tears and gripped with hope for Sloan and Jason. Narration is excellent. There’s a little bit of spice but mostly you don’t even miss it because the rest is so good.
