Publisher's Summary
The end of the world had arrived just as many had predicted, in a global exchange of nuclear weapons.
What no one predicted was the sudden message that appeared before every living soul moments before impact, a message from "The Administrators" revealing our entire world and everything in it to be a species simulation. According to the message, humanity had been reset over a million times and every single time we could not prevent our own extinction.
No more resets for humanity. No more chances.
They would leave our world an irradiated disaster, but to keep things interesting, they would convert our species simulation to a game for their twisted entertainment.
Digital or not, real or not, I have a family to protect. A wife and daughter who need me, universe be damned. I say bring it on. Welcome to the end of the world.
Welcome to The Great Filter.

Dark and violent
One of the darker I've read in this genre, and in fact darker than I prefer, so read with caution if that is not your thing.

Not where I thought it was headding
The story is good, and so is the performance.
Most are upset because it ends on a sad note.
They forget it's a game and they respawn when everyone is dead.
I did think there would be more to the story, and it does seem like it was cut short.

Why did that happen
good book was getting into it and loveing it but the ending is just too out of genre and feels like a cop out. will look at the next book if there even is one if not wont be a great loss.
the narration was absolutely fan-fucking-tastic as with nearly all books iv heard read by Neil 10/10 on that front
