About this listen
Welcome to the hotel where nobody checks out. When a desk clerk welcomes a group of tourists into his mysterious and crumbling hotel, the last thing he expects is that a lone girl on his tour may hold the power to unravel the hidden mystery that has lain for untold centuries within the structure’s walls. The Grand Hotel is a horror novel by esteemed best-selling author Scott Kenemore (Zombie, Ohio) that takes the reader on a thrilling ride through an interconnected series of stories narrated by the desk clerk and the residents of the hotel itself. And while it is not known whether or not the desk clerk is actually the devil incarnate, it is strange that so many visitors who come for a tour of the hotel have a way of never leaving. As the narrator takes you deeper and deeper into the heart of the hotel, secrets that have been hiding for aeons begin to show themselves. Although he is quite prepared for this experience, there is some question as to whether or not the rest of the world shares this readiness. Kenemore's incredible style and originality carry The Grand Hotel to places most people only see in their nightmares. And while we don’t know all of the secrets that lie within the Grand Hotel, we know that the person who does hold that knowledge puts fear into the narrator himself - a thought that ought to terrify everyone.

A fun weekend read.
I really enjoyed this. The journey through the Grand Hotel introduces us to a fun, eclectic mix of storytellers and their tales are mostly entertaining and unexpected. The ghost hunting Tasmanian chef was a particular favourite - we love food and ghosts in Tassie.
An engaging performance too with some really nice character voices.
If you're after a light and entertaining weekender, with a comfortable fireside vibe, this is a good choice.

Fun!
Brilliant! Hasn’t expected to like this as much as I did. Great stories weaves together in to a larger story. Exceptional performance by the narrator.

Didn’t expect to like this as much as I did
I liked the story. Found the mini stories imbedded within it interesting. I didn’t like the accents - pretty terrible. I wish there was a bit more to the ending because I want to know what happened next.

A different way to tell short stories.
The short stories are entertaining. Im not sure the vehicle story to link them all really works. The performance of the pieces was done veery well. I don’t think the twist was a twist. To me it was obvious from the first story. But for a free listen, I wasn’t disappointed.

Let down by narrators
The interconnected stories were interesting enough to keep me listening . This is good because repeatedly hearing the horrendously bad pronunciation of everyday words was toe - curling.

Fantastic and gripping
Full of a wonderful vast variety of interesting stories read by one of the best readers i have heard. The interest of the stories and the way they are woven together is only eclipsed by the reader and his array of voices.
