About this listen

The New Testament: The Gospel of John is one of the four canonical gospels in the New Testament. The majority of scholars say that it was written around AD 90-100 by John the Apostle, son of Zebedee and one of Jesus' 12 apostles. It traditionally appears fourth, after the synoptic gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke.

The book of John presents a man as belonging to one of two things: the darkness or the light. There is no in between. The darkness means death while the light means life. This theme is developed throughout the gospel. The book of John represents Jesus as the Messiah, God's son. It's the main theme of the gospel. It describes only seven miracles, despite other gospels. Miracles are the evidence that Jesus is God's son.
