Publisher's Summary

Rachel catches the same commuter train every morning. She knows it will wait at the same signal each time, overlooking a row of back gardens. She's even started to feel like she knows the people who live in one of the houses. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. If only Rachel could be that happy.

And then she sees something shocking. It's only a minute until the train moves on, but it's enough. Now everything's changed. Now Rachel has a chance to become a part of the lives she's only watched from afar. Now they'll see - she's much more than just the girl on the train....

Breathtaking

This was such a great book i loved it so much I listened to it day and night. I was losing interest at the start but then it took a twist you wouldn't of thought it would. Overall it was the best book I have ever read (better than The Fault In Out Stars) :) <3

Harrowing novel.

Amazing crime thriller that I could imagine being made into a movie. The emotions portrayed in the book are very confronting and then performances of the narrators are great.

One issue I had was the depressing nature of one of the key characters life which had me feeling quite negative after each listening session.

Overall a great read.

Solid.

A great story. Entertaining.
Rachel narrator was a bit intense the whole way though. I would have liked to hear some light and shade as on occasion I avoided turning it on again as she was already an annoying character and then that relentless intensity on top was too much at times.

A good read

It wasn't quite what I expected from hype, but it didn't disappoint.
This is a story about three women that cross paths, with tragic consequences, told through each of their POVs.
It's a typical thriller and Yes, I worked out the 'who done it' well before the end. However, it moved at a good pace and the author maintained interest for me, the reader.
Some readers have complained about not being able to distinguish clearly between the three women. If I am completely honest, I agree, but I stayed on track because I read carefully. Had my concentration lapsed there would have been issues, I believe.
Perhaps the three women were too alike on paper and needed more differing character traits to set them apart.
As for many reviewers complaining that the characters were not likeable. Nice people are nice, but flawed people are more interesting and fun to read about. Protagonists do not have to be likeable, at least not for me. I don't need to read about some ideal individual.
Overall, it was a good read and better than Gone Girl, which everyone seems to compare it to. Personally, I didn't much like Gone Girl.

Addictive

Audio books are my lifesaver whilst travelling for work. I found this a real "page turner" or more correctly, was happy for all the kms that allowed me to enjoy the unravelling of this great murder mystery. Whilst it's characters were somewhat weak or lacked true believability in some cases, overall it delivered on all aspects.
