About this listen
An extraordinary true story of resilience, courage, hope and finding lightness after the heaviest of landings.
What if we could figure out a way to see beauty in every part of living—the world, its people and its lessons? To still be able to feel pain and sadness, but see it all as part of this wild ride we call life? We often tell ourselves we'll be grateful when we have that job, or get that car, or that outfit. But what if we could just change our mindsets to one of wonder, of appreciation, of awe in simply being?
For years, Emma Carey was a regular young adult who would wake up and go about their day on autopilot, someone who would look at a sunset and feel unaffected, someone who was living, but not really alive. That is, until something happened that enabled her to really see life for the gift it is. Emma was in a skydiving accident that made her a paraplegic. This book is not just about Emma's fall from the sky and how she learned to walk without ever regaining feeling in her legs but also about the beliefs and ideas that helped her survive. These are the beliefs and ideas that make her the happiest she's ever been.
While Emma did eventually learn how to walk again, her changed mindset is the thing she continues to be proudest of, and most grateful for. Emma's story is one that will capture your heart and heal your mind, as she guides us through what she has learned along the way. With a maturity and evenness beyond her years, as well as a down-to-earth approach to hope and possibility, Emma shows us how to live in the world when what we expected doesn't fit our reality. She shows us how to really look, and see beauty where it is.

Amazing and inspiring story
I work in community care, so I have clients with mental and physical disabilities, including quadriplegics. This book gave me a lot of insights I didnt know - or better think - about, as my clients dont want to talk about it! One is so ashamed she doesn’t even want to go shopping for fear of people staring at her! I wish I could help her see things differently! I tried before, but maybe now I understand her better and can help her more! I will recommend this book to my colleagues whenever I get s chance!

Amazing story
What the insurance company put you through is absolutely disgusting. They are so quick to take your money then it is like getting blood out of stone when you have a claim.
Fantastic book.

If you can read this, you must
I cried non-stop as Emma read her story of bravery, honesty and authenticity. I've experienced similar moments of depression and also feeling lucky and awe-inspired for no other reason than it feels better to than not. I was horrified at the recounting of the legal and medical proceedings and also laughed at the funny everyday and tender moments. Emma tells her story tactfully but is also raw and pure, showing the essence of a person transformed. This testimony is a reminder to live every day to the fullest. Thank you for being you, Emma, and sharing it with us xxxxx

So inspiring. Love how Emma sees the world and how she chooses not let events rull her life but find the beauty in it to grow.
