Great story
I have always loved Gerald Durrell's stories and read them as a child. I also love Christopher Timothy in the original All Creatures Great and Small and his reading of audio books. My only critique here and it is very minor is that he pronounces Spiro as SpIro rather than Spearo. It's such a prevalent name in Greece and throughout the story that I thought it should have been picked up before publication. That's the only thing,. Other than that love it

Gentle, funny story
Such a lovely “listen”. Prewar before the world became serious.
a carefree, existence... an eccentric, creative family, ..... a joy to spend some time with them on beautiful Corfu.

Brilliant story and narrative. Loved it!
Gerrard Durrell paints brilliantly with words. one really wishes they could be there in the story. Highly recommended.

Brilliant book, hilarious and delightful
One of the most delightful books I have ever read, slightly detracted from by the narrator's dubious pronunciation of some words, however a great performance otherwise.
