Publisher's Summary
Thirteen years ago, Moab Is My Washpot, Stephen Fry’s autobiography of his early years, was published to rave reviews and was a huge best seller. In the years since, Stephen Fry has moved into a completely new stratosphere, both as a public figure, and a private man. Now he is not just a multi-award-winning comedian and actor, but also an author, director, and presenter.
In January 2010 he was awarded the Special Recognition Award at the National Television Awards. Much loved by the public and his peers, Stephen Fry is one of the most influential cultural forces in the country. This dazzling memoir promises to be a courageously frank, honest and poignant read. It will detail some of the most turbulent and least-well-known years of his life, with writing that will excite you, make you laugh uproariously, move you, inform you, and, above all, surprise you.

Oddly Compelling
"oddly" because of all the showbiz stories (for which I normally care little)... "compelling" because it is honest, intriguing and completely interesting. It has some recap and a tiny bit of repetition from Moab - but well worth the purchase. I expect my enjoyment of it was enabled at least in part by Mr Fry's wonderful performance of the anecdotes of his deserved transformation from boyhood blaggard to manly maestro.

I just love him
I only want to listen to audiobooks recorded by Stephen Fry from now on for the rest of my life. Please record more, I’ve already finished Sherlock. Onto Mythos.

A memoir to remember
For those of us who had troubled early years from comfortable families Stephen Fry describes his early life never losing track of his flaws or privileges. We can sympathise with yet not pity his falls into disarray. This is due to a depth of self awareness that never succumbs to
pompousity. Read in his own voice I would make the smallest criticism that his tone sometimes loses colour. A touch of harshness that I think he would not have allowed had he been reading the work of another.

Humorous and Honest
Naturally, I wouldn't wrote anything negative - one you've listened, you'll understand - and Fry's self-deprecating style and witty turn of phrase keep you hooked throughout.

Immensely entertaining and brutally honest
I loved it, particularly his early years before he became 'TV' famous and the very last page, which had me in tears. An engaging and witty read from a gifted story-teller. Thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it.
