About this listen
The first five thrilling novels in the Fringe Series are now available in a convenient audiobook bundle!
Featuring galactic conspiracies, epic interstellar missions, and three rebel captains at the front of an interplanetary war, this explosive collection includes the following titles:
- Fringe Runner
- Fringe Station
- Fringe Campaign
- Fringe War
- Fringe Legacy
War looms on the horizon.... After the colonization of Mars and Europa, it took us fewer than five generations to reach beyond our solar system and colonize new planets capable of supporting human life. Power struggles have made a galactic war inevitable, and only an old mail runner, a space pirate, and their ragtag crews can prevent it.

Books 1-4 are thoroughly enjoyable!
As my review title reads, the first 4 books are quite good.
Firstly, the performance by James Anderson Foster is excellent! His pacing and character performances are just about perfect. 10/10 for his involvement in this audiobook.
The first book built the setting for the world that this story revolves around, however, I did find myself feeling a little lost in the first third of it about what was what, who was who and why I should care about whatever past referenced story happening.
But once it got over that hump I enjoyed the progression all the way through.
There were some things that I perceived as faults, such as descriptions of the system and trying to get a decent understanding of scale and the travel times between worlds.
I also would have felt more immersed if more info around the terraforming technology had been shared. Not enough to bog it down in details, just enough (a bit more) to say, "Ahhhh that makes a lot of sense!"
Come book 4, I felt like the main story arc was concluding unexpectedly quickly. It all wrapped up so suddenly that I was like... So what's book 5 going to be about?
But I found myself happy with how it wrapped up. It was a good ending that closed all the characters stories nicely and helped progress the characters to the next phase of their journies.
Then book 5 started and within 10 minutes I decided that I was listening to it just out of respect for the previous 4. It felt like an unnecessarily long epilogue.
a lot of what happened in it just didn't need to happen for the story to have ended well. It did add some nice little conclusions to relationships and where certain characters ended up.
All in all, I felt very "ehh" about book 5.
But the overall series was very enjoyable!
