About this listen
Sometimes, dyslexia can go unnoticed for years, almost half a lifetime in fact. The effects of dyslexia are more than just bad spelling and illegible handwriting.
I didn’t realize I was dyslexic until I was 41. By that time, I’d lost my job due to spelling mistakes more times than I can remember. But dyslexia is more than just making mistakes.
When I finally realized why I could never hold onto a job, it came as a huge shock, but it was also liberating. It gave me the freedom to make mistakes.
