About this listen
Running an accounting firm is hard. Because nobody teaches you how to run an accountancy business when you do accountancy training. Nobody teaches you how to price your services, how to win new business, how to lead and manage a team or how to implement systems. The result is working too hard for too little money and never having enough time.
That’s the exact situation that Reza found himself in. However, facing these same challenges and undergoing an intense journey over ten years to overcome them, he transformed his practice and got it to run and grow without him. This was the result of building those four foundational pillars you will learn about in this book.
When you have the four pillars fully cemented in your firm you will:
- Be able to work less and earn more
- Build and scale a firm to any height you please
- Attract clients and team members with ease and
- Achieve the time and financial freedom you want
This is not theory. This book contains strategies tried and battle-tested in real world accounting firms - so you don’t waste time and money figuring out what actually works. Take the shortcut – read this book and you’ll get to your goals a lot faster.
What others say about The 4 Pillars:
“Expertly insightful, written by a smart, entrepreneurial accountant who’s been there and done it. This essential reading outlines the foundations for building a profitable and scalable accounting business”
(James Ashford, Founder of Go Proposal by Sage, Author of Selling to Serve and Untapped)
“Reza has not only walked the walk in his practice, but has also spent countless hours investing in his development - and it's evidenced in this book, where he shares not only the theory but the practical steps that you need to take in your practice. Not only that, but the stories from other practices really help bring both the ideas and the results to life. A must read for anyone serious about growing their firm” (Carl Reader, Author of Boss IT)
"The late Intel CEO Andy Grove said that “disruptive threats come inherently not from new technology but from new business models.” In the Four Pillars, Reza provides the foundational strategies your firm needs to transform from a “We sell time” to a “We sell outcomes” business model. His demonstrated strategies will enable you to price based upon value created, rather than internal costs and efforts. It is another nail in the coffin of the billable hour and timesheet—two ideas holding our profession back from creating remarkable customer and team member experiences." (Ronald J. Baker, Founder of VeraSage. Author of best-selling books, “Implementing Value Pricing: A Radical Business Model for Professional Firms”, “Time’s Up!: The Subscription Business Model for Professional Firms”.)
"Reza and I famously, and quite publicly, often disagree! But one thing we completely agree on is that growth and change don’t happen by accident. They require effort, analysis and focus. This book will provide you with the framework to get those crucial factors in place as you embark on your plans." (Lucy Cohen, Founder of Mazuma Accountants & Author of Forget The First Million)
This book is a must-listen for all accountancy practice owners who want to break from the norm and grow a better and more profitable business! Reza outlines the steps that we should all be taking in a clear way and is very generous with his tips and strategies.
