Publisher's Summary

Contains books 1-3 of The Forgotten.

Forgotten, book 1

Sheriff Hayden Duke was born on the Pilgrim, and he expects to die on the Pilgrim, like his father, and his father before him. That's the way things are on a generation starship centuries from home. He's never questioned it. Never thought about it. And why bother? Access points to the ship's controls are sealed, the systems that guide her automated and out of reach. It isn't perfect, but he has all he needs to be content.

Until a malfunction forces his engineer wife to the edge of the habitable zone to inspect the damage. Until she contacts him, breathless and terrified, to tell him she found a body, and it doesn't belong to anyone on board. Until he arrives at the scene and discovers both his wife and the body are gone. The only clue? A bloody handprint beneath a hatch that hasn't opened in hundreds of years. Until now.

Forsaken, book 2

Sheriff Hayden Duke expects to die any second. He's already been attacked by demonic aliens, rogue soldiers, and even the people he thought were his friends.

They took his wife. He has to find her. He has to survive. Another second. Another breath. He can never give up. He can never rest until she's back in his arms. They'll try to stop him, but it won't be as easy as they think. A new hope is rising in an old world.

Unforgiven, book 3

Sheriff Hayden Duke has got a long way to go before he can rest. How can he when the entire world is under siege by demonic aliens and a brutal thug who calls himself King?

It's an unknown and powerful threat that may be responsible for the end of humankind. The road may be long. The odds may be bad. The stakes may be high. But you can’t keep a good Sheriff down.

Pause that...

I stumbled on this trilogy by accident, from a recommendation by Audible.
I was swayed by 2 elements, a whole trilogy for 1 credit & a review that mentioned this book sharing elements of Aliens & Event Horizon.

SOLD!

But to expand.. I'm a huge fan of the scifi horror genre, and watch/read many series of content.
To put it that I've gotten bored of where Ridley Scott has taken the Aliens franchise. Finding it too predictable and not really groundbreaking.

But these books are in depth and riviting. It kept me guessing and the writer does a great job linking the 3 books. The narrator is suberb and he captures all the characters well (even the females)
I found myself excited to keep listening and am hooked into this new world.

A nice touch of familiarity and unexplored territory.

If you're a fan of Sci-fi Horror. Do it!

Third book too much. Space cowdie

Really enjoyed the first book which I would rate the story as a 4 but the next two dragged it down overall.
The endless fighting with the Trife became boring and the recovery of the sheriff unbelievable.
Enjoyed the characters with just enough information to keep them interesting.
Will leave the rest of the series for a while to see if time away improves it overall.

unfortunate

I really liked the concept of the book what let it down is the main character the sheriff fellow is just too much it's like having Clint Eastwood whisper in your ear which for some people might be fine but for me it just got very Tedious very quickly

a tricky one

very good amount of hours for 1 credit I very much enjoyed the first book because of the crime mystery and it did take a few good twist that I loved as well, sadly book 2 was a bit of a struggle to get through and book 3 just felt rushed. overall I felt like the story was very plain after the first book and even though the narration was fantastic it just couldn't carry me all the way to loving the story.

A bit over the top on the morality stuff.

Kind of sickeningly good sheriff runs around messing people up and doing good, like, really good stuff.

Was "ok". I can't be bothered listening to any more of it - put it that way.

The premise was very good though, and I really liked the twists in the story. But geez the characters could be a little less 1 dimensional.

I binged though the whole trilogy in a single weekend. I'm happy to know the story still continues

WHAT A RIDE!!!

Loved all 3 of the books.
some parts where a little slow at times but over all this has to be one of my favourite audible experiences of all time.
