Publisher's Summary

The second title in David Baldacci's best-selling series, The Forgotten is a fast-paced action thriller, featuring the hero of Zero Day – John Puller.

Criminal investigator John Puller is drawn closer to home when his aunt is found dead in her house in Paradise, Florida. The local police have ruled the death as an accident, but

Puller finds evidence to suggest that she may well have been murdered.

On the surface the town lives up to its name, but as Puller digs deeper he realizes that this town and its inhabitants are more akin to Hell than Paradise. His belief is confirmed as evidence of strange and inexplicable events come to light. And when Puller learns the truth about what is happening in this once sleepy town, he knows that his discoveries will impact far wider than Paradise.

A fine action thriller.

A good time. Plenty of action and intrigue. Probably won't make you a Rhodes Scholar, but is better than a smack in the face with a wet fish.

To the producers: Stop with the stupid music and sound effects. That or do them well. It sounds like you have pirated the collated soundtracks of 1970's cop show pilots. Thankfully, there isn't too much of it.

Some pros & cons - entertaining overall

[{ "answer" : "No, but I very rarely go back to a fiction book twice", "type" : "Overall", "question" : "Would you listen to The Forgotten: John Puller, Book 2 again? Why?", "id" : 45, "typeString" : "overall" }, { "answer" : "Whilst the main character is Puller, Meko was interesting as his story took a while to unfold.", "type" : "Story", "question" : "Who was your favorite character and why?", "id" : 6, "typeString" : "story" }, { "answer" : "I listened to this second in the series straight after the first book. McLarty does a good job and as I'd got used to his voice as Puller, the continuity was a good thing. Conversely, whilst I think Cassidy is a solid narrator, using the same voice for the second in the series means it is difficult not to conjure up images of the previous characters from the earlier book.

As with the first book in this series the publishers use a dramatised style with sound effects and mood soundtrack sometimes. Personally I thought it unnecessary and started to find this annoying as the book progressed.", "type" : "Performance", "question" : "What about Ron McLarty and Orlagh Cassidy ’s performance did you like?", "id" : 27, "typeString" : "performance" }, { "answer" : "I listen to audiobooks on the journey to and from work but it certainly was gripping enough to keep me coming back to it.", "type" : "Genre", "question" : "Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?", "id" : 55, "typeString" : "genre" }, { "answer" : "", "type" : "Misc", "question" : "Any additional comments?", "id" : -1, "typeString" : "misc" } ]

Really enjoyed this story from beginning to end. The narrator has a wonderful voice and read the characters really well. The sound effects were a bit different but okay but overall a Fabulous story. I would recommend it to a wide audience.
