About this listen

By the late '80s, Stan and Jacqui Winston had a good life. Two good jobs, two healthy kids, and a three-bedroom bungalow on the island. Stan, however, had a bit of a gambling problem, and while he told Jacqui he was through with it, he still managed to sneak out from time to time.

While on vacation in Florida, a random quarter would change their lives. Stan hit the jackpot, but the resort owner couldn’t pay. Old and tired, the resort owner agreed to sell the motel at a discount to settle the debt owed to Stan. Little did the Winstons know that owning the Flamingo Inn was the exact opposite of the “deal of a lifetime” they thought it was. New York trouble would find Stan and Jacqui fighting for their lives as they navigated the very narrow path toward simply getting their lives back to the time before they became owners of the Mob Motel.
