About this listen

After taking and defending Vuzgal, Erik and Rugrat have a new task to complete: build a city.

They have been racing through the realms at this point, but Vuzgal is a prize that they can't simply give up on. Alva is mobilized, as are their allies, to build out the new city.

It is time that they solidify their gains, working on their crafts, their fighting ability, and cultivation. As they expand their personal power, their gaze turns toward Vermire, to the dungeon. It's time they started to exert the strength they've built up.

Alva moves in the shadows, but to what effect? The answer lies in the Fifth Realm.

Keep going

Ok a lot of the reviews for the next book is hating the change of narrator from this book to the next, can I just point out that Neil started this entire series for audio. He did the two week curse, so if you love the series enough that you listened to the first book and chose to keep going, you obviously thought he did a good enough job. I love this series, this book in particular and Todd did a great job brining it alive like he has done for the other books.

Many reviews might say stop here, stop with this book and narrator, before going (back) to the next book and Neil as the narrator. Please don’t let this amazing book be the last in the series for you. My advice, after this book, go listen to the first couple of chapters of the two week curse. You get to touch base with Eric and Rugrat and where they started from, at the same time you can acclimate to the voice and vibe of Neil as the narrator. You do this and you’ll love the next book as much as this one and the rest of the series.

Great listen

As a story, this works great. It's incredibly well thought out, and works perfectly in the greater story. It's a shame that much of the fanbase prefer murderhobo content, however I'm glad they're disappointed.

Endless meetings

I’m sad to say, I couldn’t finish the book. It felt like I was listening to endless meetings followed by “we must consolidate our gains”.

Boring?

it's getting boring sorry. the story needs more battles or single fighting with the main characters

Felt more like minutes of endless meetings at time

I really fell in love with this series, really strong, good character development, Eric and Rugrat really brought the story to life.
I am ending the series here, I tried to listen to book 6 part 1, but they changed the narrator, who was horrible, killed it completely. But I don't know what the Author was thinking, as he went along, just wanted to make everyone in the story a main character in some way, and you cant just switch gears like that. This book and the fact he split book 6 in to 2 parts just so you have to buy the second part for no reason, since all the other books have been equal to part 1 and 2 of book 6, just gave me an overall sour taste in my mouth. This Author ruined a great series....Period

it would be nice to touch on the next realm more.

narrator is great as always. probably the worse of the series so far. it barely touched the actual 5th realm and hard focused on alot of filler. The floors they went to had to be brought up but honestly the last 4 hours or absolute filler garbage with no-plot-armour troops made me want to drop the series. Was a huge struggle to push through

Boring, poor editing

Too many characters, too many sub-plots. Too much politics that is weak story telling and seems like fillers.
The story jumps around like a cat on a hot tin roof. You start to get into one of the story’s and then bam you’re somewhere else.
This book has lost me, book 4 was not too bad but this one is just plain frustrating.
