About this listen
Gary Karkofsky, a.k.a. Merciless: The Supervillain Without MercyTM, is enjoying the bliss of a newly rebooted Earth. Ultragod is President of the United States, most supervillains are either harmless or imprisoned, and superpowers are being used to benefit all mankind. Of course it couldn't last. Suffering a near fatal heart attack and under attack by extra-dimensional evils, Gary struggles to find an object that might repair the universe he's unwittingly damaged the fabric of.
Gary will find himself dealing with an alien witch queen, a fantasy world with a massive dungeon, and a final showdown with his greatest foe!
Oh and he sleeps with a dragon.
Enjoy the next exciting installment of the Supervillainy Saga!

The series that keeps getting better!
These books keep getting exponentially better, and this latest one is no different. Although, I should warn you this is one of those installments that has some heavy ramifications when it's all said and done (no spoilers beyond that).
The story starts with Gary living a life of domestic bliss with his extended family and his basement of kobolds (more on them in the short story at the back of the book).
Then Gary has a heart attack and dies.
Sort of. I won't go into the plot further than that because there are some big twists that I can't ruin, this story was WILD! Magical alien queens, ladies who can shapeshift into dragons, dungeon quests and an honest to goodness massive superhero war at the end.
There was actually a lot of character development for Gary in this one, and he grows and changes from the man (god?) he is in chapter one. That's something I've always liked about these books. In amongst the hilarious insanity of Gary's life, there are things that can force him to change and evolve.
As I said earlier, the fact that things in this world can change so dramatically and Gary and co have to change themselves to better fit in this world really endears me to these stories.
That and the hilarious insanity. That's stepped up here, which I loved.
If you've read/listened to Gary's eight (wow, so many?!) other books, you know the gist of what to expect here, and somehow it stays fresh and different even after all that.
Kafer's narration was spot on as always, but I feel it needed to be said.
I absolutely loved this book, and you will too.
