Publisher's Summary
The mysticism and fairy folklore of Celtic England, Scotland, the Isle of Man, Brittany, and Wales is explored in this production, which focuses on interviews conducted with everyday citizens about their beliefs, sightings, and encounters in the early 20th century, followed by an anthropological examination of evidence. It is an exploration of the spirit world, of the Sidhe, the "good people", who are claimed to interact mischievously with the populace - sometimes even abducting them and leaving only the victims' clothes behind, transporting them far distances, and killing their livestock.

Magick!
A useful cross cultural treatment of the 'old' religion and how it influences the 'new'.

Brilliant. Insightful.
Brilliant, very insightful.
But why is Ireland specifically not included in the blurb for this book? I almost didn’t buy as I’m currently researching Irish mythology and looking for books in this topic. I’m glad I took a gamble and listened, because a lot this book is about Irish Fae. Why leave that out of description? Strange.

fake accent of narrator
it is baffling that an American putting on a fake British accent was chosen as the narrator for this book. The author was American anyway so it is completely nonsensical and comes across as very naff. I persevered because I was interested in the subject matter, but it was extremely jarring and I was relieved when I didn't have to put up with the butchering of it any more.
