About this listen

Violet Fairdale is in big trouble. Her home is gone, her beloved forest lies in ruins, the guy she gave her heart to has deserted her - and she doesn't remember any of it. The powerful Lord Draven is taking over, brainwashing guardians into fighting for him. No one is safe from the evil spreading throughout the fae world.

As alliances are forged between the remaining free fae, Vi struggles to reclaim her identity and figure out where she belongs in this new world. When someone from her past shows up, life gets even more complicated. He brings with him a long-forgotten weapon and an ancient prophecy that places Vi at the center of the fight against Draven.

With the future of the fae world at stake, can Vi carry out the prophecy's instructions before it's too late?

Violet and Ryn’s conclusion

The Faerie War is book three and the finale in Rachel Morgan’s Creepy Hollow series. The highly anticipated conclusion to Lord Davian is here. This book continues on from The Faerie Prince and it is recommended that books one and two are read before reading this one.

Creepy Hollow is nothing but destroyed forest land and rubbled homes. The guardians are either brainwashed and working for Davian, dead or on the run. Violet has no memory of who she is, that she is a guardian and what that entails, if she has any family, or who Ryn is. She has a letter in her pocket from someone named Ryn but that’s it. Living with the reptiscillas, in the underground with no memories but surrounded by hatred is not a easy task.
Will Violet get her memories?
Will Ryn come back for V?
Will they be able to defeat Davian?
The answers to these questions will all be revealed and more.

Wow oh wow, what a conclusion. This series as been a great experience I’ll be honest I was very hesitant going into this book after the way book two The Faerie Prince ended with Violet taking the ‘forget’ potion. I understand she was heartbroken and devastated with what had happened but she still had so much to not forget, plus she always seemed like a strong person and taking the potion seemed to be a cowards way. Also she was very quick once again to assume that Ryn didn’t want her, she needs to learn to trust people.

I was so glad I did read it and was not disappointed. Although the ending did seem a little rushed, we have been on this long journey from The Faerie Guardian and The Faerie Prince that this book just seemed to rush through too quick compared to the pace of the previous books.

My heart was so torn and heartache for Ryn when he finally found Violet again. The devastation and lose of her not recognising him *cry. But as the say goes all good things come to those who wait, well I’m this case are patient. Ryn has held a piece of my heart since TFG I knew he was destined to be with V and then in TFP with his swoon moves and romantic notions just sealed it, but in this book I was an absolute goner. The fish bowl scene was just per perfection.

The internal battles that Violet had to go through while trying to figure who she is was hard to read, but when she found out she was the reason for the lose of memory she just could not comprehend it. But with Ryn by her side she was able to rebuild herself and come back stronger.

Well done Rachel, this was a fantastic series and I look forward to spreading more by you, I will be a little said to say goodbye to Ryn and V when I move on to Calla, I understand they will be making appearances but it won’t be the same.
