About this listen

The greatest pains, like the greatest rewards, are not physical.

All around us we see lives that look picture perfect—no evidence of a problem, no apparent reasons for pain. Yet our modern population experiences disconnection and depression in a way never before documented in human history. Do we have to put a baseball bat through the flawless, reflective exterior of our lives and break everything apart to make it right, or is there another way?

The Enjoyment Gap explores this problem, bringing it into plain sight with an integrated model of realization that includes both dimensions of a life well-lived. The author shares the components of a capable method, including a 4-Key Strategy, for bringing closure to the universally relatable experience of “having it all but not feeling happy.”

Mandy’s book is a compelling and actionable guide that will help you:

  • Know exactly what the Enjoyment Gap is, why it happens, and what causes it,
  • See a clear path to resolve this problem and understand what that requires,
  • Reallocate time toward activities with more meaningful impact,
  • Capitalize on the real opportunity this challenge contains & do your life’s greatest work yet.

Mandy Barbee Lanier, M.A. is a performance coach and expert in human transformation with deep experience in operations and strategy. She has helped hundreds of outwardly successful people finally see in themselves what others saw all along and materially cash in on their investments. If you’ve achieved apparent success, but haven’t unlocked its intrinsic rewards yet, the Enjoyment Gap is the only thing standing in the way of an indestructible type of happiness that is possible for all of us.

Engaging, relatable, information rich, and practical

As a performance coach and person who seeks to continuously improve myself, I found this book valuable both personally and professionally.

Mandy shares her models and frameworks in a very thoughtful way. She shares personal stories and client stories throughout which made learning both enjoyable and applicable.

I received many insights throughout and also found new ways to describe things I had not previously been able to.

Great book
