About this listen
An impossible mission, for a man who barely exists.
The mysterious assassin known only as Victor is locked in an uneasy alliance with the CIA. And he has a list: Three names, three victims. Worst of all, Victor is given just two days to take down his targets, forcing him to compromise his usual extreme care.
With each name Victor crosses off his list, the game grows far more complex - and far more lethal. A conspiracy begins to unwind and suddenly this perfect assassin becomes the perfect target.
Zooming from Moscow to London and Washington, and loaded with suspense, twists and sex appeal, The Enemy is a high-octane thrill-ride ideal for fans of Lee Child.

The last half of the book
The first half, although setting up the story was a little boring and I did find it hard to concentrate, however the last half redeemed itself

Very listenable.
Firstly, the narrator is excellent! Being Australian I can't cop many American accents for being to twangy and drawling and find the same with most Australian narrators. I often will only buy bbc or public school broadcasters for their clarity, roundedness and non-invasive assault on my slightly deaf eardrums.
That said the author excels at descriptive, hugely deadly combat scenarios and this is a large part of the book. Eventually this will get old but at book 2, there is still a long way to go.
Character development is slow but fine by me and I like the fact that there is little of anyone's feminine side on display.
A book for blokes blokes and the sheila's can have their rock crystals and astrology verve!
A good read.

The 2nd 'Victor' book .. almost as good as the 1st
Have you listened to any of Daniel Philpott’s other performances? How does this one compare?
Yes. Another great performance, demonstrating what a talented narrator can add to the enjoyment of audio books
Any additional comments?
It wouldn't be essential to have read (listened to) the first in the series to find this book thoroughly entertaining but personally I'd recommend "The Hunter" first as it will give context to parts of the story.

Action packed
I'm ready to download the next one in the series now. I enjoy the description that had me watching the action as a movie in my head.

Action packed and suspenseful.
This is the second book I have read in the series and enjoyed it immensely. It is fast paced and action packed. Daniel Philpotts narration is slowly staying to grow on me as I get into the Victor the Assassin's character. Very enjoyable book.

Enjoyable Follow up from The Hunter
I enjoyed The Hunter more as it introduced and developed "victor".
This had a good story line with sub plots as well , but again the Narration stands out for me as the star ..
Enjoyable,.. could leave at different stages but sometimes sat in the car listening instead of heading into the office to work due to excitement of pace in the action parts .
Will pop back to Harry Bosch series now and come back again at a later date for the third in this series (just to keep it fresh)
