Threaded throughout these chapters are universal laws that exist all around us and affect every aspect of our lives. The irony is that these truths are known by very few. Clever fiction reveals the mysteries
Don Horsfall's debut novel reads like that of a more experienced fictional writer. The novel opens with the key character, Beau Sterling, embroiled in courtroom dramas. But the dramatic doesn't stop at the bar. Beau's personal life - despite his high-end attorney status and Sydney harborside wealth - is unravelling. Horsfall cleverly navigates the two worlds of privilege and personal self-discovery through Beau's realization that there has to be more to life than the material. And so as the pages unfold, we travel with Beau on the high seas, meet extraordinary people, experience adventures & romance, and encounter life-defining moments. But more importantly, Beau begins to unravel the big questions of life - why are we here - what is our purpose - is there something beyond our current existence? The author artfully reveals the Mysteries of the Universe through clever dialogue and plot development. The complexities of these universal principles require a deft hand and while they may demand some reflection on the part of the listener, the author's understanding of them, blended with his own life experiences, has created a wonderful work that takes us on a journey of discovery to the Empyrean. A very satisfying and rewarding listen.
