About this listen

The Custodian Guard have stood watch over the Emperor's Palace on Terra since the foundation of the Imperium. Charged with protecting the Master of Mankind from all threats, within and without, their fearsome resolve is renowned throughout the galaxy, and their golden armour is the last thing that a would-be assassin or saboteur will ever see.

Alongside the Null-maidens of the Sisters of Silence, who are anathema to psykers and sorcerers alike, there is no threat to the Golden Throne that they alone cannot vanquish...until now.

Good having the different narrators for an unabridged audio book.

Like the fact they have different narrators to give a bit more depth to the 3 main characters.

Definitely have had listened to better 40k novels but still, worth the credit or 14.95 Aud for the listen.

Amazing

Absolutely amazing! Story, performances, the lot! It was great to have the story broken up in to 3 characters. Each with a different view.

Masterful

Absolutely awesome. A must listen for any fan of the Imperium. A glorious tale with wonderfully rendered characters and a final battle scene with dialogue that gave me whole body goosebumps.

Just brilliant

Great narrators made a fantastic story even better. The mix of three perspectives was interesting and added depth and kept things moving. One of my favourite 40k stories so far.

loving this series and the ever growing world of 40k or rather 41k lore and narratives.

sensational

gripping from start to end. The story itself was excellent: really captured the dark parts of the warhammer universe and "recent", events in the story. But the audio performance! wow that was something else all together. three voice actors for each of the three main characters added very different impressions of the three: it was entertaining and varied and overall fantastic.

entertaining

another good book in the 40k universe. I just wish some of the other titles supporting this story were also on audio. however, the story is good and the three person narrative does not spoil the overall storytelling.

Superb!

This is honestly one of the best books in all the Warhammer range, especially in audio format.

The alternating chapters between three characters, three extremely talented performers giving each of the three perspectives through excellent performances, the mixture of the personal, the political and action across key events makes for a fantastic listening experience and which caries they key progression of the recent changes in the setting a grounding desperately needed allowing for a much better transition between old and new than I thought possible.

Well worth it.
