Publisher's Summary
A fleet of 40 worldships carrying the last remnants of humanity on a mission of survival trying to find a new home...but what if a new planet were found - would it bring happiness and hope - or start a war that would rip the fleet apart?
Coming from the poverty-stricken Elfor settlement on the Humility, Master Thief Yasmine Dufont just wants a way off the stinking ship and to put a whole lot of distance between her and gangster ex-boyfriend, Dimitri. But when a dream score of credits goes disastrously wrong, she’s left on the run with a hidden code that everyone seems to want to get their hands on.
Addict Detective Zhang Woo will do anything for his next fix. Distracted by his insatiable needs, broken by the murder of his last lover, he knows he’s on a downward spiral but has no idea how to stop it, and even if he could recover the stolen navigational code his boss wants so badly, should he?
Breaking new stories has always been Kristi Carter’s passion - but there’s something not adding up about the report she’s currently covering. Digging deeper could have repercussions not just for her career but for her very life....
As the tensions rise between Elfors and the anti-Elfor movement headed by the sadistic Captain Pierre Jefferson, everyone knows the breaking point will be reached soon. Humanity may well have been saved from complete destruction - but what cost are they willing to pay to secure their future?

I would never pick up this book
But the Audible version by Colin Morgan was a journey like no other. The second in the series by Haywood used very colourful and dark descriptions which were validated and brought to life by Colin. Haywood masterfully wove themes throughout and the last 20 chapters held me all day into the next morning. Please write another. Please get Colin to present it.

Great Story Great Narration
I have read nearly all of RR Haywood's books and they are great, I thoroughly enjoyed the story in this one, Colin Morgan gives a great narration with a multitude of different voices that really brings the comedy in the words to the fore, it is hilarious at times. I would recommend the series to anyone looking for an action comedy thrill ride set in space, yup that's about it. I can't wait for book 3

Nope!
Just can’t get passed the thought that I’m listening to Wallace & Gromit! Most of the voices sound comical but then a few F bombs are dropped and it just doesn’t line up. The story is so back and forth, it doesn’t grab my attention. Definitely on the bottom of my list of favourites. I bought the series so I am going to finish them but for no other reason unfortunately.

A great book spoiled by a sulky little boy
There’s so much to like about this series; however, (spoiler alert), one of the male main characters actually has the audacity to act like the victim when his partner has obvious trauma from a horrifically violent sexual assault. It was revolting. He was such a sooky little $&@$ because: he didn’t think he was being thanked enough (yes, everyone should have stopped fighting the bad guys to organise a thank you party for the poor thing); had to go without for a few days to help a group of people that go without ALL OF THE TIME; and, he seemed to think that his partner’s apprehension about intimacy after the trauma from her violent sexual assault was unfair to him because, “he’s not like that other guy”!!! Red Flags Galore, Yassy! Run like the wind girl!!
The narrator’s performance is outstanding. I really enjoyed the first book and I was enjoying the second until, well, whatever that was. It was just so tone deaf that I felt secondhand embarrassment for the author!! I almost want to listen to the next book to see if he redeems himself (the author and the character).
