About this listen

The fourth, fifth and sixth gripping and shocking crime novels in The Edmonton Police Station Thrillers series from author Mark Yarwood.

THE AMOUNT OF EVIL

Influential businessmen are being slaughtered across London.

Each victim is given a local anesthetic before witnessing his own body being cut to pieces. The decapitated head is stuck on a pole as warning that revenge is being reaped. But revenge for what? And who will be next?

DCI JAIRUS is put in charge of the case. He’s a resourceful detective living with guilt after killing a suspect in self-defense. He soon discovers the murders are being committed by a sadistic psychopath and a delusional and violent ex-con, and that it’s all connected to the disappearance of several young women.

But Jairus himself hides a dark secret in his lock-up, something no one can ever learn the truth about. The troubled DCI finds himself drawn into a world of satanic rituals, secret societies and deadly revenge. And as Jairus investigates, his gut tells him that someone else is orchestrating the murders…

Introducing DCI Jairus in the fourth, gripping instalment of the Edmonton Police Station thriller series.

WHEN THE DEVIL CALLS

DCI Jairus returns for his darkest outing yet as he finds himself pursuing a deranged serial killer with a taste for strangling his female victims and dressing in their clothes.

But when Scotland Yard start digging into Jairus’ last case and threaten to find him guilty of murder, the DCI needs help. He finds a friend and alibi in feisty forensic expert Cathy Durbridge, however it soon becomes clear that she’s just as volatile and explosive as Jairus himself, and with his murderous past catching up with him, and Cathy becoming a liability, Jairus is desperate for a way out.

So, when the devil calls and makes him an offer he can't refuse, he joins forces with a dangerous criminal gang, where to save himself he must commit the greatest sin of all.

Can he survive with his soul intact?

THE FIRSTCOMER

HE’S AN ANGEL OF DEATH WITH A MESSAGE…

When thirty-four bodies, many of them faceless, are dug up at a holiday cottage near Enfield, it means the Edmonton Special Murder Group face their darkest, twisted and most dangerous investigation yet.

Without an experienced SIO to take the lead, the Yard send the obsessive misanthrope DCI Philip Radford to take charge of the mass murder case. Radford and the team soon come to realize that the killer is stealing identities, and appearing to the victims' families before he executes his prey.

But Radford comes with his own baggage; like his hard-faced, loose cannon partner DS Paula Lowe, and psychopathic drug dealer Jason Vance, who is intent on exacting deadly revenge on him after he is released from prison. As the identity thief killer's victims start to pile up, it becomes horrifically apparent that he’s sending a message to his victims, the world, and especially to the Edmonton team:

I AM AN ANGEL OF DEATH…

SEVENTY-SEVEN MUST DIE!
