Publisher's Summary

Allen Carr's Easyway is the most effective stop-smoking method of all time and it has now been successfully applied to a wide range of other issues. Here the method focuses on one of the fastest-growing problems of modern times for women: drinking.

Alcohol blights women's lives often in a distinctly different way to men's: women tend to stay at home drinking alcohol; women often feel particular shame over drinking too much; drinking around children can be a particular burden. In summary there are a lot of added pressures on women to stop drinking, and often they feel this is an impossible task.

Luckily, Allen Carr's Easyway makes it easy to stop drinking. It's the tried-and-tested cessation method that really works. With startling insight into why women drink and clear, simple, step-by-step instructions, Allen Carr shows you the way to escape from the alcohol trap in the time it takes to listen to this audiobook.

Definitely The Easy Way

Would you listen to The Easy Way for Women to Stop Drinking again? Why?

I would listen to this book again to confirm why I don't wont to drink anymore

What does Gabrielle Glaister bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Her voice is very hypnotising and was very easy to listen to

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I listened to this book as I walked my dog each morning

Any additional comments?

This book made you very aware about how much alcohol is a part of everyday life. I am quite happy now to go anywhere without the need to have a drink and definitely don't feel like I am missing out. Totally recommend, I have even passed onto a few of my friends. I feel amazing.

Who Knew 🤷‍♀️

This book was life changing for me, even before I got to the end of the book (I still finished the book) my desire for my evening wine was gone. It really was easy and painless.

Repeative info means you stop

Around 2005 I read Allen Carr's Easy Way to Stop Smoking. When I picked up the book I felt like crap due to smoking but I was addicted and didn't want to give up. I read the book and stopped halfway through the book as I still wasn't 100% sure I wanted to give up. I read the book again and I did the ceremony of my last cigarette and I got rid of all the tobacco and ashtrays etc. I remember it being a bit hard when taking a break at work - work friends smoked and I didn't. Three weeks later, just as the book said, I thought to myself 'I am free from smoking.' And I have never had a cigarette since or wanted one. So here I am in a similar situation. I feel like crap due to the 2/3 bottle of wine I drink 4 or 5 times a week. When I go to the Doctor's I lie when they ask how many glasses a week I drink. I don't think I have a massive problem with alcohol but it is not serving me. Over the last 10 years, I have steadily put on weight which I cannot budge and is ever increasing. I asked myself what in my life is not serving me and decided it was alcohol. Again with this version, I read it twice. I noticed my consumption dropped considerably - the book says to drink throughout until you have your last drink. There is a whole lot of related information on how it makes you feel etc which helps you to think and understand how crap alcohol is actually making you feel. I read the book twice and last night I happily had my 'last glass of wine.' In doing that I remembered my first bottle of wine at the age of 15 after a friend had dumped me. And that sums up my relationship with alcohol - a crutch. Something to do to obliterate pain. Be gone alcohol. Thank you Allen Carr, again.

I made it through my addiction

There is miracle inside this book. Since I pass the last chapter I quit drinking and my brain was reprogrammed. No desire so no need and therefore No deprivation.

Great advice....but...

I found this book full of helpful information and suggestions, but I find some of the language and tone very condescending for example big monster and little monster and referring to those who choose to drink as people to be pitied. it has changed how I perceive alcohol though and I'm excited to be giving it up.
