About this listen
Lizzie, Megan and Sam became accidental friends over good coffee, banter and wrong-world jokes at school drop off. Lizzie is a part-time midwife with four kids and a secret past. Sam is an ex-chef and stay-at-home dad with an absent, high-flying corporate wife. Megan is an ex-model single mum with a thriving online business and no time for loneliness. None of them have much interest in their school community, but when tragedy deals Baytree Primary’s reputation a potentially crippling blow, this unlikely trio has to step up. Forced out of their respective comfort zones, Lizzie, Megan and Sam learn more about each other, the school and themselves than they thought possible.
And it all begins at the drop off.

Got to love the politics of a primary school community
Relatable for all parents in a primary school community. I see my wife and her friends in each page.

It’s a Winner 🍾
I had the absolutely pleasure of listening to the “Drop off” by Fiona Harris and Mike McLeish.
It blasts us into our diverse Melbourne and to the life’s of three wonderful characters, Lizzie, Megan and Sam who all have to deal with the monotony of the drop off/school life but in the process, discover the absolute joy that these precious moments can create.
This hilarious book, so cleverly written by Fiona Harris and Mike McLeish highlights how we all strive to be successful parents while trying to act like mature adults, however one can so easily slip back into the child within, aching to be accepted, respected but most of all loved and then there’s the politics of the playground!
The superb delivery of the text, with its many characters (and accents ) and the connection to the emotion of each character is so beautifully handled. There are some very emotional gut wrenching moments from Sam( Mike Mc Leish) amidst the hilariously portrayal of Lizzie’s family (Fiona Harris) and Gyton Grantley’s Rick.
As a past school ‘drop off’ mum, it reminded me of the friendships that crept into my life on the morning drop off, and how these special people developed into some of my most precious friends.

A refreshing Aussie comedy
We’ve all been there &done that- Anybody whose been to school, parent or child, can relate to this – Here we have Aussie school tales told about adult misbehaving at school when they’re dropping off the kids – A great contemporary tale of friendship, loyalty & what it means to be an Australian parent – Loved it & it’s funny to boot!
