Publisher's Summary
A beautifully written, sweeping historical women's fiction novel that spans both time and the globe as we follow one woman's journey from simple country girl to global fashion icon.
I need to tell you a story, ma chère. My story.
Rosa Kusstatscher has built a global fashion empire upon her ability to find the perfect outfit for any occasion. But tonight, as she prepares for the most important meeting of her life, her usual certainty eludes her.
What brought her to this moment? As she struggles to select her dress and choose the right shade of lipstick, Rosa begins to tell her incredible story. The story of a poor country girl from a village high in the mountains of Italy. Of Nazi occupation and fleeing in the night. Of hope and heartbreak in Switzerland; ambition, glamour and love in Paris. Of ambition and devastation in Rio de Janeiro; success and self-discovery in New York.
A life spent running, she sees now. But she will run no longer.
Breathtaking and utterly enthralling, The Dressmaker of Paris is a stunning debut novel that is perfect for fans of Lucinda Riley, Kate Morton and Dinah Jefferies.

Terrific story, beautifully narrated.
This is my first review, I found this book to be riveting. Hard to believe it is a first novel and will definitely look out for more. Terrific pacing, beautifully written and narrated. I found it to be very moving. I also loved the chapter headings and how they related to the storyline. Highly recommended!

Brilliant
having lived through some of those times I have been given a new look through eyes of someone who had a first hand experience with them.

Intriguing
What a wonderful expose of Rosa’s
World wide story. While she talks to her ‘ma Cher’ throughout the book one has no clue as to whom she is sharing her story. Thank you for drawing me in and loving and living with her character.

Great Read
I can't often say that I loved a book - but I was sad when this one finished. I think Danielle Steele has a successor who writes even better. I felt compelled by all of the themes in this book. It seems like it's a true story. Really Really great story telling

The Dressmaker of Paris
Look, this is a nice story. The title for me was a little misleading as there isn’t much about what you would think it means. I enjoyed three quarters of it but got lost a bit at the end where the timeline confused me. I also found there was so much waxed lyrical about the first two major loves and just about nothing about the grand love at the end, that it felt like a rushed ending and a feeling of ‘I’m over writing this book and I just need to finish it’, by the author. Great narration by Karen Cass with her credible accents. It was a reasonable chill-out book if that’s what you are looking for. Wasn’t bad at all but wasn’t ‘omg so riveting I can’t put this book down’ like some I’ve read.

A story spanning generations and continents.
I really enjoyed the historical detail that went into this work along with the insight into the fashion industry. The fashion theme helped to create visual imagery of diverse eras as this narrative rolled across generations and continents. A complex tale told in a well structured and enticing manner. Well done.
