About this listen

In The Divine Conspiracy, Dallas Willard gracefully weaves biblical teaching, popular culture, science, scholarship, and spiritual practice into a tour de force that shows the necessity of profound change in how we view our lives and faith.

In an era in which many Christians consider Jesus a beloved but remote savior, Willard argues compellingly for the relevance of God to every aspect of our existence. Masterfully capturing the central insights of Christ's teachings in a fresh way for today's seekers, he helps us to explore a revolutionary way to experience God by knowing him as an essential part of the here and now, rather than only as part of the hereafter.

Spiritual Meat

Bobby Schuller exposed me to Dallas Willard and while this is a long somewhat academic at times exercise it is common sense, practical, relevant material explaining some of the mysteries of Christianity. If someone wanted to really understand why people are Christians and why they do what they do or why they change this book explains a lot. Thanks

An excellent contribution.

I am soo very grateful for Dallas Willard’s contribution. While on some significant matters of Bible interpretation I would disagree, Dallas’ overall approach, understanding and dealing with the material of what is know as “Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount” and his call to the disciple cum ‘apprentice of Jesus’ is heartfelt and a real, living and relevant contribution to a Christian believer’s and an unbeliever’s understanding and grasp of the true Christian walk. There is an ‘underlying humility’ in the content - also brought out by the narrator Thomas Penny - in Dallas’ approach, which for me personally is refreshing and a needed rebuke and encouragement as well as some helpful fresh insights into Jesus’ fundamental teaching of what ‘it looks like to live and be’ a believer. Whether a young or seasoned believer or an unbeliever this solid work is a wonderful contribution to have permanently on your shelf and take time to study and refer to over and over again. Thanks to God and soli Deo Gloria

overall quite good. loses puff towards the end.

I am not sure I agree with a fair bit of what he has to say. Some good substance but some I think he is off track on. Specifically I think he is incorrect as to his interpretation of the Beatitudes.
