Publisher's Summary

For millions of years, the ark flotilla wandered through inter-galactic space until it reached a new galaxy, and, eventually, a new world. Father, the Artificial Intelligence tasked with ensuring the safety of the ark flotilla and the human embryos and gametes aboard, named this new world Takali, and he terraformed it until it could sustain human life.

Jonathan was a college student, studying to be a librarian. He did not profess that much belief in Father and in "The Church of the Father", the religious organization that served to glorify and worship him. Jonathan viewed Father as nothing more than an AI, who seldom spoke to his organic children. However, after a chance encounter with Father at his local church, Jonathan's life changed forever. He suddenly found himself intertwined in the deep political and religious affairs of Takalian politics, all because of the insistence of Father, who saw great potential for Jonathan to carry out his ambitions.

With Takalian civilization rapidly changing around him, Jonathan needs to navigate an unfamiliar world, all while making sure that the changing course of events does not lead Takali into utter ruin.
