About this listen
'Dr Louise is a miracle worker' - Lorraine Kelly
'Louise is my No. 1 go-to when it comes to anything menopause and this book is perfect for when I'm worried about anything.'- Alison Hammond
'Louise Newson is wonderful... a real expert in her field.' - Joe Wicks
Your complete, expert, evidence-based guide to the perimenopause and menopause.
Dr Louise Newson is fast becoming the leading medical expert on hormone health. This revised and expanded edition of her bestselling book has all the information and advice you need to understand the impact of low hormone levels on your perimenopause symptoms as well as on your future health post-menopause. There's an up-to-date guide to HRT doses, how to deal with HRT availability fluctuations, new research on testosterone and its benefits beyond libido boosting and startling findings on how low hormones can increase our propensity towards addictive behaviours, including intake of alcohol. New interviews with experts including Dr Lisa Mosconi discuss pertinent questions such as whether HRT can reduce the risk of dementia, and new case studies from Newson Health reveal essential research on how hormone imbalance can impact the neurodivergent brain.
With the gender pay gap highlighting inequality in the workplace and women's pension pots diminished, it is vitally important that the frightening stats showing almost 60% of women have taken time off work or reduced their hours due to menopause symptoms are broadcast far and wide. This book will empower and inform you to improve your own menopause care as well as understand the bigger societal issues that have been ignored for far too long.©2023 Louise Newson (P)2023 Hodder & Stoughton Limited

Fabulous!!
This book helps women and their families take back their power and build knowledge and reassurance in relation to the female and the complexities of our hormones…at any age. A valuable guide for everyone including all health professionals in every field a MUST READ!! Thank you Dr Louise Newson…time to be humble and proud of yourself, long over due!! You helped to save my life and all of my relationships around me on every level. The impact you have had on me and many others around me…there are NO WORDS TO EVER EXPRESS MY GRATITUDE!!! I Too am making this topic part of my Advocacy work, understanding the importance…not to mention the magnitude and connection to the “Health and Wellbeing of Women” Thank you for the shove, unknowingly you have inspired me and given me another purpose to fight for… other than the previous decades of having to fight for my life never understanding why I was the way I was and being soooo cruelly labelled CRAZY and a HYPOCRITE !! Seriously destroyed my self worth and self esteem over the years. Having started HRT (after re education) even being a Cancer Survivor three times…my life is immeasurably improved… I hope and prey I have an opportunity of many more healthy years ahead to finally experience what normalised balanced hormones actually feel like!!
