Publisher's Summary

*The New York Times and USA Today bestseller!*

Florence Day is a ghost-writer with one big problem. She’s supposed to be penning swoon-worthy novels for a famous romance author but, after a bad break-up, Florence no longer believes in love. And when her strict (but undeniably hot) new editor, Benji Andor, won’t give her an extension on her book deadline, Florence prepares to kiss her career goodbye.

Although when tragedy strikes and Florence has to head home, the last thing she expects to see is a ghost at her front door. Not just any ghost, however, but the stern form of her still very hot – yet now unquestionably dead – new editor.

As sparks start to fly between them, Florence tells herself she can’t be falling for a ghost – even an infuriatingly sexy one. But can Benji help Florence to realise love isn’t dead, after all?

If you fell in love with Beach Read, The Love Hypothesis and The Hating Game, this laugh-out-loud romance packed with sizzling chemistry will give you all the feels!

Critic Reviews

"We could all use a good summer ghost story, and you can't get much better than Ashley Poston's adult fiction debut." (Entertainment Weekly)

"I LOVED this book. A beautiful, poignant story, full of beautiful, poignant characters… at the end all the pieces fall perfectly into place, and the picture that they form is at once touching, funny, breathtaking, hopeful, and dreamy." (Ali Hazelwood, New York Times bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis)

"The Dead Romantics was an absolute and unexpected delight. Voicy and quirky and fun; the pages will probably sparkle (but with black glitter)." (Christina Lauren, New York Times bestselling author of The Unhoneymooners)

Ghostly love

A heartfelt story of love and sorrow intertwined; with great twists and turns throughout. The narrator did a good job at distinguishing each character.

SO ENTERTAINING

I loved this story, and I loved the narration by Eileen Stevens. I loved the concept of "Miss Day" seeing and talking to the ghosts. It was a delightful tale about a girl who felt as if she didn't fit it. BUT she was so unique, so special that she outshone the inhabitants of the little town.
LOVED IT.

Perfect

I wouldn't want a single part of this book. The characters are perfectly flawed, loveable and I grieved and healed along with them. 5 stars!

Stunning.

A beautiful exploration of love, life, death, grief, hope and small moments. It is a love letter to writing and the romance genre. I have NO NOTES. This was utter perfection. I laughed. I ached. I sobbed my ruined heart out.

Ashley Poston can WRITE.

Forgettable

⭐️⭐️✨ 2.5 stars, and a fair bit of confusion about why people love this book so much.

I meant to write a proper review for this book months ago, but obviously it left such a minute impression on me that the review wasn't the only thing that slipped my mind—I forgot about The Dead Romantics altogether.

So, that pretty much sums it up for me, I guess. I remember very little of this book other than I enjoyed it less than The Seven Year Slip, which I had very mixed feelings about.

I won't be reading it again.
