About this listen

New, four-books-in-one! Post-apocalyptic action! The Day America Died! trilogy plus book four - The Final Ending - all four books in the series in one audiobook!

A nuclear EMP attack would shove the USA back 150 years. Death, chaos, and lawlessness would prevail....

Zack Johnson is no hero, but he does have some valuable prepper skills to help him survive. There is nothing like a nuclear apocalypse to help a man grow up and become a hero as he helps his family and friends survive. He is 2,000 miles from home; the grid and all modern transportation have failed. The country is degenerating into violence and dog-eat-dog scenarios. People are killing their neighbors for a scrap of moldy bread or a sip of water.

Zack has to get back to Kentucky to find his daughter so he can take her to the safety of his farm. The Department of Homeland Security is forcing people into relocation camps for their own good. Can Zack save his daughter and help his friends survive the apocalypse?

Listen to The Day America Died! and find out for yourself.

how reel this could be

was an easy listen while still very consuming at times, frightening to think it could happen so easy.

Unoriginal and derivative

Very childish narrative, overly moralising and a pretty unoriginal plot with the exception of the ending

I Really Wanted To Like This Book ... but

Having enjoyed other post-apocalyptic audiobooks I decided to give this one a listen. From the outset I felt the narrator's "raspy" character voice was forced, yet I persevered. I hoped the story might grow and deepen, with accompanying character developments, but it didn't get much better. I respect the efforts of creating stories and understand the great investment of time focus and energy. I feel this one would've benefitted with a very "robust" edit and time spent on exploring the flaws in the main characters.
