About this listen
Two women. An office filled with secrets. One terrible crime that can't be taken back.
Dawn Schiff is strange.
At least, everyone thinks so at Vixed, the nutritional supplement company where Dawn works as an accountant. She never says the right thing. She has no friends. And she is always at her desk at precisely 8:45 a.m.
So when Dawn doesn't show up to the office one morning, her coworker Natalie Farrell―beautiful, popular, top sales rep five years running―is surprised. Then she receives an unsettling, anonymous phone call that changes everything…
It turns out Dawn wasn't just an awkward outsider―she was being targeted by someone close. And now Natalie is irrevocably tied to Dawn as she finds herself caught in a twisted game of cat and mouse that leaves her wondering: who's the real victim? But one thing is incredibly clear: somebody hated Dawn Schiff.
Enough to kill.
The Coworker is a tense, captivating thriller from New York Times bestselling author Freida McFadden that explores the dark ways the past can echo through the present―with deadly consequences.

New game, take a drink every time you hear turtle. You’ll be buzzed before the 3 chapter.
The book was slow, it defiantly had a good plot twist, than turned slow again, and got good at the end again.

The worst narrator
The narrators nasally voice ruins the story and the experience. I've listened to 8 of Freidas books but this is the first narrated by Alison and I'll never listen to another with the same voice again. As for the story, probably the most predictable and least exciting one I've read so far. Still an easy read and not disappointed by the predictable ending.

Not my favourite Freida McFadden
I found the delivery/reading of the emails in the book cringe worthy and the story and ending weren’t really believable at all. I love Frieda’s books but this wasn’t a favourite I’m afraid.

A bit predictable
Not very intriguing and not much happened in this book. It’s not my favourite from Freida.

Another great read from Freida McFadden
A little slow at the start but boy does this read get better and better the more you listen. Like a slow burn 🔥 to a large flame this story builds with a surprise ending.
Side note: 📝 Love the voice narrator. The combination of Freida’s writing with the amazing voice work by Alyson Krawchuk is so addictively good! I love this narrators work as much as the authors. This duo is so good together!

Great twist
You can never tell how Freida’s stories are going to end. This one was gripping and touched my heart at the same time. Highly recommended! Thank you Freida McFadden. Loved it.

Better than I thought…
After reading g quite a few negative reviews I thought I this Frieda novel would be one of my least favorites, but I actually quite enjoyed it. Definitely not the worst. I did find the reading out of the emails a bit annoying as there were so many going back & forth & the narrators voice got a bit monotone. But I overall it was pretty good.

Far fetched
Frieda McFadden novels can be a bit of a hit and miss. The good ones are really good and the others are average at best. I don't have high expectations for this reason. This story was pretty average and silly. While the suspense was good and engaging early on, Part 2 was so cringe and over the top. The ending was so far fetched and unbelievable.
Alyson Krawchuk has a beautiful, playful voice but I don't enjoy her reading of adult thriller novels. She seems to try too hard and fails to deliver any thrill or suspense, and sounds like she'd be better off reading small children or young adult novels. It's a bit of a buzz kill when you're trying to listen to a "psychological thriller"

Swing and a miss
I usually love Frieda McFadden books but this one did not meet my expectations.
Not a single likeable character, the story was so far fetched, and the narrator was dull, unemotive, and grating.
