Horry Winwood doesn't play by the rules.
So when her family are near ruin and her sister is about to enter a loveless marriage to a wealthy man to settle the family debts, young and headstrong Horry proposes to marry him in her sister's place.
As her new husband's attentions fall elsewhere, Horry begins to feel increasingly unhappy.
Then she meets the attractive and dangerous Lord Lethbridge, and her days suddenly become more exciting.

Will Horry's gamble cost her everything she holds most dear?

Richard Armitage is definitely the best.
I have listened many times to the abridged edition of The Convenient Marriage, narrated by Richard Armitage. Having read the actual book times without number, though, there were a few elements missing from this production whose absence I felt, so I was keen to listen to an unabridged version. It was not bad, but without a doubt the narration is not of the same high level. So whilst I enjoyed hearing the full story, I will keep returning to Richard Armitage and his wonderful performance.

Loved it
I have read this book many times. It is so outrageously silly and the characters are so ridiculous but that is the Georgette Heyer charm. Very delightful.

Listen for the performance
The plot was okay; enjoyable enough. The narrator makes listening worthwhile! Her performance was great.

grear fun.. delightfil heroine
it has some of heyers best tropes. the aloof hero, the young wife, the idiotic well meaning sidekicjs and the dastardly bad man and jealous lover. one of her best i think.
