Solid. Worth Reading
Whilst it had a number of right wing tropes, and was a little unimaginative at times, the detail was excellent and so was the action.
Few issues: how a thousand neo-Nazis managed to share one prison is beyond me. Most US prisoners are black.
We never returned to one of the main early characters. Never got resolution on several loose ends and characters.
Sometimes the detail seemed to overtake the action.
Author is obsessed with "M4s" and "Barretts" and M2 Brownings. Like hardly any other weapon existing in the US.
Fine if you like the genre.

well written emotional roller-coaster.
Loved the likeability of the main characters. Make a real connection with them. The bad guys leave you with a lingering distaste for them and their actions. Some real tear provoking moments. Action is well written and flows well. End was a bit sudden but still satisfying. 10/10 Highly recommend.

chillingly plausible
The entire series took a natural disaster (one not entirely impossible to occur) and took it through a step by step set of thoroughly believable consequences.
Utterly compelling!

The goodies were good, the baddies were bad
This was an ok book but the story was very simple with not much drama or story telling going on. The good guys always win with it getting a bit silly with last minute saves becoming the standard for the story. The baddies are all very stupid and do dumb things and they lose all the time. There was a strong "boats for the win" theme in the book which was interesting for a while but then i think they were involved 'just to be involved' for much of the story. There were probably to many characters and they were all pretty much bland copies of each other, i got very bored by the end. Unfortunately not a great book, but perhaps it will fill a long trip or a filler till something better comes along. The narrator made most of the characters sound exactly the same so the already bland one dimensional characters were hard to follow .
