About this listen

"For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths." (2 Timothy 4:3-4)

Jesus Christ is coming back. It is certainly a Christian's greatest hope during these difficult times. The Bible warns us that the last days will be tumultuous - wars and rumors of wars will spread (Matthew 24:6). In our age, the world seems to be spinning out of control, creating fear, confusion, and uncertainty. In addition to violence, pestilence, and epidemics, the Bible predicts a great "falling away" from God in the end times. Bible teachers call that "the great apostasy". Are we seeing evidence today in the church of this massive rejection of sound and wholesome teaching?

Best-selling authors Mark Hitchcock and Jeff Kinley team up to examine the evidence from the teachers of our time. Are today's teachers allowing people to follow their own desires by telling them what they want to hear, as the Bible clearly predicts? Are major portions of the church ready to abandon sound and wholesome teaching?

Together, Mark and Jeff explore alarming trends among today's church leaders, and they are simply stunned by what they discover. The great apostasy is coming, but is it closer than we imagine? Let Mark and Jeff be your steady guides to the difficult days ahead.

Very insightful

Really enjoyed listening to this book. It is a great compass for my spiritual journey. The key topics are relevant to current events and the truths the author brings out are the basics of living a life worth eternity

Fellow atheists, please read this.

I'm an atheist. Normally that wouldn't matter, except that this book asserts a lot of things that I believe are non-sensical.

HOWEVER: I have learned a tremendous amount about the mindset and challenges presented to a truly committed, intellectually honest (or at least as much as faith allows) believer in Christ.
These authors do a fantastic job of explaining exactly why they believe what they believe, oppose what they oppose and are motivated to fight for what they think is righteous. All the while showing no interest at all in political point scoring or pandering. In fact, there is a very, not so subtle spray at red hat wearing Christian Nationalists within these pages.
I honestly don't think there is an ounce of bigotry or hatred within these pages (outside of what an honest reading of the bible requires), and although they will most certainly discuss and object to things for which the modern world will brand them monsters, I honestly believe that these authors do nothing more than make a truly heartfelt, well researched (from the bible) case for holding the opinions they do.
I believe this book had made me significantly more tolerant of the plight of these 'true' Christians.
If you want to understand the mindset of genuine Christian conservatives who are committed to their faith, this is the book for you.
