Editorial reviews

This amusing West African folktale is accompanied by drums that create a perfect setting. When two greedy cats find a large piece of cheese, they decide their best recourse is to divide it - evenly. Soon a wily monkey offers to do the job for the cats because they can trust him. When he errs, narrator Rob Cleveland proclaims in a hilarious voice, "Uh-oh, I made a mistake; they're not equal." As he repeats his words and incorrect slicing, one of the cats screams in frustration that they needn't be perfectly equal. Finally, the cats are left with two tiny pieces of cheese. Drums conclude the story as the exasperated sounding narrator utters, "The cats might still be arguing."
