About this listen

Random House presents the audiobook edition of the short story The Christmas Scorpion by Lee Child, read by Jeff Harding.

Jack Reacher likes to head south for the winter, to stay warm: so just before Christmas he arrives in a small town in Southern California. But the weather there is not warm and dry, as it’s supposed to be: he arrives in a freak blizzard. Reacher finds refuge in a snowed-in roadhouse with four other strangers stranded by the storm. Two of them are British military police, separated by the weather from the VIP they are detailed to protect. Can Reacher help them find their guy, or will an undercover assassin find him first?

Not keen on really short stories

Whilst the story was clever, I don’t think it was worth the price. Only 33 minutes.
I love the Jack Reacher series and have every one of Lee Child’s Reacher stories.

Disappointed

1 credit wasted on a short story! It was not made clear that this was a short story.

Gutted and disappointed

I paid a full credit for this!

I felt the story was crap, a double bluff special protection agent, simply wouldn’t work in the real world. As if agents of any agency never had regular checkups by company doctors and all those agencies note all tattoos, even relatively new ones. Sorry Lee but this story just blows.

Misleading - is just a short story

Pre bought this thinking it was a full book. It is not. This should be more clear or the book should be less than one full credit if it’s only 39 mins long!!

Final chapter

Thought this was the next novel in the series, instead it was just a 'short story' but felt more like the final chapter of a novel we weren't allowed to hear, very disappointing!

Short story. Wasted a credit

Was a waste of money. Felt like a deliberate $$$ grab. Very disappointed. Surely you shouldn’t have to pay for this???
