About this listen
Welcome back to Briar U!
Discover the next generation in this icy-hot spin-off series from The Queen of Hockey Romance, Elle Kennedy!
College senior Charlotte Kingston is living two lives - and she's nailing both of them. By day, she's the perfect sorority girl, a STEM student in biomedical engineering, and the adopted daughter of an overachiever family. At night, she's Charlie: a risk-taking daredevil looking for fun who finds herself chatting on a dating app with two anonymous hotties.
Will Larsen may seem like the breezy boy next door, but his congressman father is a constant thorn in his side. After a scandal hits another Division 1 hockey program, Will's dad is determined to distance his son from it, hiring a journalist to prove how squeaky-clean Will and his team are. Which means the last thing Will wants is for anyone to find out he and his best friend Beckett Dunne - a laidback Aussie shielding secret heartache - sometimes share girls in the bedroom.
When Charlie finally meets them in person and realizes she's been chatting with two gorgeous Briar U hockey players, things get steamy - fast. But all their messy secrets are piling up, and real life soon threatens to shatter the fantasy. With Charlie, Will, and Beckett all coming to terms with what they want and what others want for them, difficult decisions will need to be made.
Especially when lust starts to look a lot like love.

Mah! She written better books
A story about international adoption that probably triggering for people in that situation.
A story where a girl trying to understand her adoption by complaining about it and occasionally blows of steam by have meh three somes. Afterwoods starts sooks about have said three some for most of the book. Scared of judgement of other so does things she doesn't want to do like not having three somes. Expected more spice. Spice was very meh for mmf book.
After thinking about it some more. Feels like there were too many side story lines within the story. The book within the book was funny at first but was boring after a while. Felt like she was just trying to make a bigger book.
The whole time I wanted Black story. The snippets of past characters or Blake is the reason I finished the book.

Sean Masters was the best part
This book didn't disappoint as my first foray into MFM romance. I appreciate Kennedy's ability to balance witty dialogue, actual storylines outside of the bedroom, and, of course, spice.
Like other books in the Campus Diaries series, the subplots are dramatic and cover some pretty heavy topics, sometimes without the time and detail they deserve.
This could have been an excellent 5/5 book with fewer of the heavy subplots and more time spent on the emotional relationships between all 3 characters, as, at times, the plot lurched and lagged. My main wish is that the platonic/emotional relationship that Will & Beckett clearly have was fleshed out and explored so much more.
Finally - Sean Masters knocked his narration OUT OF THE PARK. I could listen to his voice allll day and his Aussie accent was hard to fault (I'm a native speaker and it was a pretty good rendition of one of the east coast accents. Persephone Lee, on the other hand, really needs to take some notes and practice her twang. I'm grateful Teddy Hamilton was kept away from all the Aussie lines too).
