Enjoyable and likeable characters
Love this series so much!! I love the characters and their stories and solving the murders is almost secondary to following the main characters lives

Great plots intertwined.
As with all Sally Rigby's books, I find the stories suddenly shut down and leave you hanging, wondering what the resolution was! But that won't deter me from listening to another if my favourite authors don't have anything new!

Cavendish & Walker books 4-6.
Creative stories & great characters. I really enjoy these great police procedurals. The characters also have depth to them.

Becomes progressively boring...
I enjoyed volume 1, and snapped up vol 2 straight away. What's happened? In book 5, "Wid-nee" (as per the narrator) just basically becomes a whiny bitch and the story devolves into she said/she said chick-lit. Blech. Carrying on about how George needs to "earn her keep" at the police station, and demanding when George should come to work for them - even though she's not being paid. Also, the author's pretentious little hook for Wid-nee's caffeine "addiction" is pathetic. What real person would "groan in ecstasy" when they smell coffee? Groan in pleasure, perhaps, but ecstasy? There are too many snotty feeble characters for me to continue, and I have dropped out of this series. Clare does her best and I've enjoyed her narration of other titles.
