About this listen
Widely respected as a civil libertarian, legal educator, and defense attorney extraordinaire, Alan M. Dershowitz has also been a passionate though not uncritical supporter of Israel. In this audiobook, he presents an ardent defense of Israel's rights, supported by indisputable evidence. Dershowitz takes a close look at what Israel's accusers and detractors are saying about this war-torn country. He accuses those who attack Israel of international bigotry and backs up his argument with hard facts.

thorough case put forward
I'm a fan of Alan, his objectivity, analysis and critique is thorough and well articulated with lots of examples all the way through the book to back up his point. If you want some good secular arguments to counter anti- Israel perspectives there's lots of material in here to do that. I particularly liked the historical examples and references to the host of events prior to and after the re-creation of Israel in 1947, eg the 6 day war, failed Arab invasion, Yasser Arafat walking out of the Camp David negotiations etc... towards the end Alan takes some time to critically analyse some comments and general attitudes of the academia toward Israel, especially Noam Chomsky. Good read . Recommend .

Interesting - but not an objective case presented.
It is good to get this perspective; but please don’t listen expecting an objective analysis of the history and evolution of Israel. Reviews led me to believe I would get a true legal perspective. It is a defense of Israel and its actions from a legal lecturer/professor. I feel better for having heard it and it will make me look for more audio books with different perspectives.
