Jackie and Pete King have lived in Dunmore for years, running one of the two local pubs in the sleepy little town. Money has been tight after the bushfires, and it’s about to get tighter if they can’t find a way to pay their suppliers to keep their business going and keep the bank from foreclosing on their property. So when Jackie receives a mysterious phone call offering them $100,000 to let someone bury a body on their land, the answer isn’t as simple as they thought it would be.

Brilliant
An extremely entertaining story. Very well written snd performed. I was entertained right through and didn’t want it to end.

Gripping and funny
I’ve listened to a few books by this author but the others didn’t have the same humour as this one! Also so many very Australian references that may be puzzling to a non-Aussie. As usual a great story line, plot twist that kept me guessing. Good listen.

Great yarn

The truth or the guilt?
Based on the premise, the story of a down on their luck, desperate couple is very plausible. Would I take the money and accept the deal? probably not. I think I wouldn't be able to live with the guilt, regardless how much money was on offer. The twist at the end makes it even better. Great narrator, very good story.

A good story which leaves you with a question.
I’d like to bet that everyone who reads this book will ask themselves ‘What would I do if I was asked the same question?’, I certainly did!. Some of the storyline was not particularly compelling but overall I really enjoyed it. Well worth the read.
