Here’s looking at you, kid!
Gentleman burglar Bernie Rhodenbarr channels his inner Humphrey Bogart as he tracks down a double murderer embroiled with the exiled heir to the royal fortune of a small Balkan nation. This was pretty fun with author Lawrence Block’s word play, Bernie and Caroline’s jaded jokes, the reliably corrupt cop, Ray, and the femme fatale Bernie is falling for. Of course, Bogart’s famous “hill of beans” speech makes an appearance to round things off. While I definitely miss Richard Ferrone’s narration, Frank Muller did a great job on the audiobook, also channeling Bogart to a tee (currently free on the Audible Plus catalogue)!

Burglar is fast
I do like these stories although prefer the first one better. Fast talking and clever.
Bernie is a hoot.
