About this listen

Anuka Sandbar is the most interesting half-goblin alive. Just ask him. Anuka’s father is a ship captain, retired Naval Commander, and genius engineer. Anuka is just a daring, handsome, witty, red-skinned, dagger-wielding entertainer. When Papa disappears, Anuka sets out to find him. While sailing to a sleazy port city to begin his search, Anuka and some unlikely companions are enslaved by pirates.

They wind up the property of an emissary for the Silver DragonLord, Shimmer. The emissary offers them manumission if they discover the source of massive amounts of illegal DragonsBlood flooding the country. DragonsBlood is the most valuable currency on the continent, and is the source of all magic in the land.

With different dragon factions on the precipice of war, revealing the truth could mean the destruction of mortal civilization.

What will these unlikely heroes do when their failure means enslavement, but their success could lead to a war between the gods?

Great book 1

Well this is a great book 1 for a series I’m looking forward to listening to the rest of!!! Some intestine twists and turns in a story you can’t quite guess what’s happening next which means it’s a constant thrill. I’m sure I missed some nuances so will re-listen shortly.

Another great performance by Michael, thanks for suggesting this in the first place

Story arc 5 stars, dialogue is a very solid 4 to 4.5 stars, narration 5 stars

For a new author, this is absolutely amazing. Narration is 5 stars. Dialogue however does not always feel too real, some times I was pulled out of the story going, “Really??” But overall story arc is amazing at 5 stars, just some funny dialogue.
