After the loss of a child along with a slew of agonizing misfortunes, Nick and Jess decide to end their lives. Unable to cope with the misery that fills their days, they commit one last act together and die in loving relief.
But when Nick wakes up, he soon realizes that death isn't the gentle darkness he expected. Panicked and horrified, he struggles to understand the twisted abominations and hellish world he's now trapped in.
Driven by desperation and a sudden will to survive, he sets out to find Jess and is unable to cope with the thought of her having to suffer through the terrors this new reality holds.
But nothing could prepare him for the nightmares he found...nothing could prepare him for the Black Farm.

Brutal yet beautiful.
It doesn't get any more brutal than this. What a great entertaining read. Darker than a black hole but it also has some.. Light..

serious trigger warning ⚠️
wow.. this books was fantastic, I loved the concept! this book isn't for the weak or easily triggered. the way the story was told, the characters, the moments all gripping!
I've just realised there is a second book so I'm off to read it now!

Ever After?
What happens after a person takes their own life. A question many have asked but of course we don’t know. Let’s hope there is nothing like The Black Farm. What a twisted torment for the anguished.
An excellent story that makes you think. It kept me enthralled from the start to the very end. Horror, gore, shock and redemption are all in the story. Excellent narration that helped distinguish the characters and suited their behaviour. I loved it!

Outstanding on all levels!
I have just completed my second listening of this tale, only two weeks of finishing it the first time around. Just wow! What a brilliant, unique and utterly enthralling tale of ultra-violent brutality, gut wrenching terror and… a love so powerful that nothing can stand in its way! I read a ridiculous amount of horror (and have for over 40 years) and I’d have to say that The Black Farm has found it’s way straight into my top ten! A massive feat, yes, but read / listen to it and you’ll understand why.
As good as the story is, I must make special mention of the narrator Tom Jordan who did an outstanding job in telling this incredible tale of what awaits suicidals in their afterlife. His overall performance was excellent and his diversity in tackling the different characters was some of the best I’ve heard. So good in fact that I’ve since hunted down more horror that he has narrated. Ha!
In summary, a fantastic read, I can’t wait to sink my teeth into the sequel. Enjoy. 😀

Truly unputdownable
I am too generous with 5 star reviews.
It only becomes obvious when I find a book like this though.
The number of books that I would honestly say were "unputdownable"; I could easily count on 1 hand. This is one of those books.
I'm not finished, but I listened to the first 3 hours non-stop (I NEVER do that) and I can't wait for my next bout.
This is FANTASTICALLY read too. The voice actor really captures the emotion of the story.
It is a perfect combination of fantastically engaging story, wonderfully unique idea, and a 5 star performance.
I highly recommend this to any horror fan.
Note, it's pretty dark, there is some graphic violence and some pretty disturbing themes, but it doesn't feel out of place or over the top, its not one of those awful splatter punk things but it certainly creates a very disturbing world.
I really wish I could find more stories that I found so captivating.

Dark Souls
It doesn’t get much darker than this.. powerfully engrossing, expertly read.. first class! I can’t wait to dive I t the sequel of this one.

Non-stop violence and judgement with no real plot
The author has a serious disdain for anyone who struggles with thoughts of suicide, this is clear within minutes. Despite this I persisted, thinking with all the 5 star reviews there must be something more to it. Alas no, it is just hour after hour of gratuitous violence with juvenile character development and little real plot.
