About this listen

Being a queen should be easy as long as you have the correct clothes for the job, right?

If a little knowledge can a dangerous thing, total ignorance can be devastating and lead to all sorts of unfortunate misunderstandings.

The bees in Bumblonia were doing quite nicely until Malicia, in her glass Wellington boots, became the Queen of the kingdom. One simple misunderstanding can change life dramatically if it involves little knowledge of nature’s role in everyday life. Being arrested and locked in a dark and dreary dungeon just for stinging a posh person on the bottom was certainly a bee’s worst nightmare!

Surely just because bees are not mentioned in a good book, it doesn’t make them demons? If you tell people something enough times, they start to believe you! Even if yesterday they knew better.

If only there was an unlikely hero who could help….

The Bee Polisher is a children's fantasy story written by Helen Gerrard and William B. Taylor.

Narrated by John Otway.
