Publisher's Summary
They say they have no children. So who did I see at the window?
My darling little boy Albie adores playing at our new neighbours’ house. And after the terrible year we’ve had, I feel so lucky that we can start over in this perfect place, with new friends who treat Albie like the son they never had. He can’t stop talking about the tree house they’re building him, and the cookies they bake together.
But as time passes, something starts to feel wrong. Why don’t they ever open the front door more than a crack? They told me they had no children so who does the small pink tricycle I saw in their hall belong to? And why can I hear a lullaby drifting across the garden when I’m tucking my own boy into bed?
Then, one night, I see a small shadowy figure in their bedroom window…
I thought I’d learned my lesson about trusting the wrong people, but now I’m forced to wonder what this perfect couple are hiding.
And if I try to save that little helpless figure in the window, will I do what I’ve always feared most, and put my beautiful boy’s life in danger…?

Geez what a strange one. It takes all sorts to make the world go round for sure.
Narration was very good, easy to listen to and adept enough at voices. The storyline was quite unique and unfurling in a natural way. Quite psycho and definitely interesting views on justice. Excellent read.

Twisting plot
The narration was polished & believable. There were many plot turns which made the story interesting. The ending was unexpected

Lotti and her husbands’ interactions are exactly spot on.
I like the response’s from/ between Neil (hubby) and Lotti (main character). It’s really good to see that a lot of thought has gone into the writing of these characters inner thoughts and how men and women ‘think’ and try to cover up/lie. Very intuitive.

Plot Twists,, K. L. Slaters Books Always have Plenty
A dream job at a beautiful, modern, Mansion on the Coast, for a husband recovering from serious injuries.
Provides a home for Lotte, Brian and their young son to restart their disrupted lives.
However, things take a turn when they meet their new , slightly older, but glamorous, Employers.
Anita & Thomas .
Soon, the new beginnings that Lotte& Brian longed for take a turn into the bizarre.
As always the suspense builds, and builds, until poor Lotte is either going to be pushed over the edge, or find the strength to fight back.
The plot twist, which, let’s face it, ate an integral part of these stories, wasn’t as shocking as others, for me a least, having guessed every possible scenario beforehand, but still worth waiting for

Fascinating characters, great story plus NO profanity! A marvel.
Loved the characters and their sensitive and psychologically astute portrayal. Interesting plot. Amazing to have found a best selling author that employs NO profanity. If only more authors know how many sales they miss because their readers would prefer they stretch their vocabulary beyond ‘Jesus Christ! ‘ So rare.

Story was interesting but became more confusing
Firstly I love K L Slater audiobooks. I enjoyed this but felt the story was too far fetched and just lost me at the end.
