About this listen

Sharon Stone, one of the most renowned actresses in the world, suffered a massive stroke that cost her not only her health, but her career, family, fortune and global fame. In The Beauty of Living Twice, she chronicles her efforts to rebuild her life and the slow road back to wholeness and health. In an industry that doesn't accept failure, in a world where too many voices are silenced, Stone found the power to return, the courage to speak up and the will to make a difference in the lives of women and children around the globe.

Over the course of these intimate hours, Stone talks about her pivotal roles, her life-changing friendships, her worst disappointments and her greatest accomplishments. She reveals how she went from a childhood of trauma and violence to a business that in many ways echoed those same assaults under cover of money and glamour. She describes the strength and meaning she found in her children and in her humanitarian efforts. And ultimately, she shares how she fought her way back to find not only her truth, but her family's reconciliation and love.

Stone made headlines not just for her talent and beauty, but for her candour and her refusal to 'play nice', and it's those same qualities that make this memoir so powerful. The Beauty of Living Twice is a book for the wounded and a book for the survivors; it's a celebration of women's strength and resilience, a reckoning and a call to activism. It is proof that it's never too late to raise your voice and speak out.

Exceptional storytelling

A captivating and heart-felt memoir. I loved that Sharon Stone narrated her book, it’s powerful to hear her tell her own story.

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

I read this book because I admired Sharon Stone as a person and actor. Her trials and tribulations were handled with honesty, grace and dignity. She is an inspiration and her book was a wonderful read.

Don’t give up read it till the end.

In the beginning I wasn’t sure whether this auto biography was for me (it’s the only type of book I listen to). Sharon vents a lot in the beginning but once into her story you get the full picture and you understand why. More importantly she is now at peace in her new life. Being an actress she reads/presents it so dam well.

The beauty of living twice

What a great book. Sharon has told her very interesting and challenging life story in such a way that leaves you feeling inspired as well as entertained. I was always wondering where Sharon went as I loved seeing her in the big screen., this book clearly shows her to be one of a kind who carved out a path and life after being hit with so many life changing obstacles. Her intellect and humour make this book. She’s amazing and I wish I could see her back on screen. I mean her story would make a great movie or mini series. I’m so sick of the awful content on our streaming platforms these days. I please Sharon get this done. A fantastic read.
