About this listen
A dead body in the prayer hall of a mosque isn't the best start to the day for anyone. But for Detective Inspector Harold Porter it's all in a day's work. The problem is that DI Porter has been given a new partner - a young Muslim detective by the name of Mohammed Salim Nasri.
Nasri and Porter are both British and both cops, but they look at the world - and the case - from completely different viewpoints. And when that case includes Islamic terrorists and knife-wielding fanatics that can only mean problems.
As Porter and Nasri work to solve the case, MI5 is watching over their shoulders, and one wrong move could mean a major terrorist incident.

I enjoyed it
I read almost every Stephen Leather books, this one is entertaining and different, however, it did not deliver the nice ending I was hoping for. But, it is probably realistic, not everything ends well.

A topic crime story stretching between cultural an
A practicing Moslem is assigned to asenior police officer as an assistant, and together theyt investigate a murder in a mosque. Tensions between them are palpable, as the islamic beliefs clash with orthodox policing methods. In many of his novels, the Muslems are the terrorists, but in this one, it seems that there is a strong education and awareness perspective designed to positively improve ethnic and religious tolerance. But there are sinister back stories which make this book a good read, but I do not think that it is one of Leather's best.

Excellent production
I am quite familiar with Dan spider shepherd series but this was a one off. I really enjoyed the way they used 4 different voices depending on who of the main characters were speaking. It gave so much depth to it. The subject matter was relevant and the procedural information very informative. A great read.
