About this listen
A highly practical and researched-based toolbox for anyone who wants to create a world with more justice, creativity, and courage.
For too long, the term insubordination has evoked negative feelings and mental images. But for ideas to evolve and societies to progress, it’s vital to cultivate rebels who are committed to challenging conventional wisdom and improving on it. Change never comes easily. And most would-be rebels lack the skills to overcome hostile audiences who cling desperately to the way things are.
Based on cutting-edge research, The Art of Insubordination is the essential guide for anyone seeking to be heard, make change, and rebel against an unhealthy status quo. Learn how to
- Resist the allure of complacency
- Discover the value of being around people who stop conforming and start deviating
- Produce messages that influence the majority—when in the minority
- Build mighty alliances
- Manage the discomfort when trying to rebel
- Champion ideas that run counter to traditional thinking
- Unlock the benefits of being in a group of diverse people holding divergent views
- Cultivate curiosity, courage, and independent, critical thinking in youth
Filled with engaging stories about dissenters in the trenches as well as science that will transform your thinking. The Art of Insubordination is for anyone who seeks more justice, courage, and creativity in the world.

Practical and inspiring
Loved this book and have recommended it for anyone who feels uncomfortable but courageous to challenge ideas that don’t stack up. Todd’s reason for writing this book is amazing- his three daughters will have the recipe book for the art of insubordination.

The most needed book of our time
I started listening to this book with low expectations but I was completely blown away by how good it was.
It’s a short and easy listen which is dense with many practical and important lessons. It’s the most practical psychology book I have read.
It has a strong basis in research and a tone that is accessible, fun and real.
The book equips you to be more effective at presenting unpopular ideas that benefit society. It helps you to build mental fortitude, challenge your fear of doing the right thing.
The book also helps you be more aware of your biases and provides practical ways to lesson the impact of our biases so we can be allies to support unpopular ideas.
The book is practical, balanced and exactly what is needed today, where we are becoming less willing to hear from people who have perspectives that dissent from our own.

Excellent outfield ideas
The beauty of this book is it reminds you of the world of diverse perspectives and how important it is to have helicopter views and thinking.
Lots of ideas on how to think differently and craft different options especially where there may be conflict and resistance.
Highly recommended.
Thanks

My new textbook for life
One of the most impactful, insightful, well researched and entertaining books I’ve read. It will be my go to book for personal and professional development. Within a week I’ve listened to it twice and bought the paper copy so I can underline and book mark pages.

This book is a must-read! It incorporates ACT into real life situations and challenges that are easily digested. Highly recommend to anyone but especially those in the psych, education, paediatric or behaviour analytic realm.
